Anomet knows the importance of energy saving efficiency so we provided four Fluorescent luminaries to Lighting Sciences Canada (LSC) for simple comparison measurements of lighting efficiencies.
Comparison Measurements
Each luminarie was mounted in a completely black room such that only direct
light from the luminaire could be measured. Each luminaire was operated for
a minimum of three hours at the nominal input voltage for the luminaire's
ballast(s). Eight feet from the bottom-center of the luminaire, the illuminance
was measured in Lux[1]. The electrical consumption at the time of the light
measurement was also recorded. It should be noted that these measurements
apply only to these specific samples and do not take into account any contributions
from any other luminaires.
Consider an audit of your usage and seriously consider your options. The comparison measurements prove retrofitting will save money and energy. If you are hesitant to consider a retrofit because of the initial cost (or perceived payback is too long), consider the fact that hydro electricity is getting more expensive and therefore the paybacks will get shorter and shorter.
